Refund for dwarf cavalry

I'm madder about losing all the resources for recruiting the dwarven cavalry then how terrible the dwarven cav is. It dies so quickly whether it's from archer fire or going up against infantry. It's only level 3 with uncommon gear but I doubt i'm going to invest frags in something so terrible. A level one HI could easily out perform the cavalry. I'm not even going to bother asking for a buff. The AP decrease would help in pvp but it still isn't even close to being worth it.

Don't worry. I wasn't expecting it to take down an enemy HI or anything. But it can barely kill arty and flees to archers. It's terrible.

Try maybe a LI with a GL movement banner as a cab replacement?

possibly. I still feel like that was a huge waste of resources. Maybe I'll instead recruit an LIA.

Thanks for the analysis Scaren, I've been toying with getting some Cav but no high level dwarf has recommended them without "Great" gear. I'll continue to pass unless there's a major change.

To be fair all cavs are pretty squishy when shot at by archers. And going 1on1 vs LI is not a good idea. And a lvl 1 HI will always outperform a cavalry of similar lvl Smile

not at all worth the resources. Piktas I would say that orc cavalry was great but honestly with the 70 endurance/armor on the dwarven cavalry I didn't expect just a few archers shots to bring it's health down so low. I wasn't expecting much but not being able to take down one archer is just pitiful.

The reason is not dwarven cavalry, but the difference in levels. You are fighting lvl11 with lvl3.

When I got my DL cavalry (arguably the only good DL unit) and it was still unleveled, I would die if I charged dwarven archers. I had to team two cavs and flank them. Then I leveled the cav and now it can take several archers in a row.

You could get rid of dwarven archers completely if you want. Makes no difference to me since they are already the worse archers in the game.

My recomendation is devs dont want add more units or increase health of dwarf cav (iron fort) I think they can add more ablities like:"tower" and "unbreakable" or they can make new abilities for dwarf cav, I give some ideas here: "Faster mechanisms" (increase unit movement speed when leveling up) "impenetrable armor" (this unit offers great resistance against ranged non-arty attacks)

i see no logic making this topic told you that dwarf cav is very ged and you still bought it thats one

for a secon put some good stuff there and try tu use your tank like a hi unit Very Happy

for sure iot will not be as good as your hi but with good gear it should be not bad (good gear = godlike )

It's not cheap. My point was that I see it as a problem. Is it a huge problem? No but I think the ironfort could definitely use some tweaking. Especially since with Fog of War other race's cav will become almost essential.

As I see it, the issue isn't at all with the Cavalry itself (I've spoken to a lot of dwarves who like it... Since it finally gives them a unit to chase down fleeing enemies with) but rather, with the outlandish prices on Olympus. 22k for a unit?!? I mean, I thought it was expensive on Erevos!
