| Just thought I would mention a couple things that would be nice to see when you start adding features.
1. When you highlight a combat unit to issue orders, it would really be helpful if you would show the hero's name assigned to that unit. Since different hero's have different stats, you may want a specific hero to perform a task, and knowing who is in command of which unit, makes that a lot easier.
2. Hold ground orders. Instead of armies pushing to encircle a force attacking it, holding formation may help in certain situations. Units thin fronts when pressing, and this could cause a breach in line and disasterous consequences. Think Thermopylae with the Spartans...
3. In that same vein, perhaps research into specific formations, giving bonuses in some situations, but yet disadvantages in others. Think classic Kung-Fu for this one. Snake has advantage over Tiger, yet is weak against the Dragon, etc.

A new battle GUI will solve this problem. - Quote :

The units won't pursue or charge without an order. They will stand their ground. When you see troops rushing to the front, that won't cause a flanking bonus, even if they encircle the enemy unit. Only units can flank another unit, not individual troops. The angle of the attack is what determines whether it will be frontal, flank or rear. - Quote :

That is a good idea, but definitely for later on. | |
