My main problem with it is the range - if my archers can shoot 4x the range they can see, there's not much point to that because they'll never be able to shoot at that range. Archers are not a good unit to use along with others against the same enemy, it causes friendly fire and overall sucks. While the thought that we should use other units to scout for archers is nice, it's also a high expectation with the way the game works.
The only thing I'd want change is a longer FoW range. If I've got archers out with some serious range buffs (which I do) then let them see the range they have. Archers would get a useful role as scouts, and it's not like they'd see everything anyways because obstacles would still block them partially. Archers just got the biggest buff ever and even I as a skellie begin to enjoy them. They are a great unit now and need to be handled with caution especially by ud players, cause friendly fire can shoot UDs moral into the ground, since the morale multiplier for UD. An increased range of vision for archers is not needed. The way i use my archers they can shoot at their maximum range.

Finally I have a unit that can make up for my heavies not being the best in my tier (sometimes). Overall I don't think they need a nerf though. Otherwise they might just go back into the trash bin. However, AI might need an archer limit because they can swarm them like crazy if you get unlucky.

| From my pov elven archers were nerfed a lot. Because of fow and because their strengh was and still is in higher range that they cant use. The stat distribution is still beyong pitiful. Equipping archers well without wasting AP is just a mystery, no its not even possible, especially as an elf. So i would rather wait for a proper ranged unit rework that was promiced before i rant more But personally i find the current situation terrible. | |

True....puts what the elfs are know for the best into the "Normal category". what would be best range with low caps are those like orcs 15-25 + strength which exceeds caps and makes them extremely useful, those with -armor are also good but Strength>>armor and many units don't have any armor/low armor so it's less useful.
