Since you like Plato "Εις ευ φρονών μυρίων μη φρονούντων κρείττων εστί." You are forgetting that with higher difficulty you have a higher probability of a higher rarity fragment to drop.

Drop Rates per difficulty. These are base rates without any items' modifiers.
Easy: No drop
Normal: 45%
Hard: 50%
Nightmare: 52%
Insane: 56%
Suicide: 60%
Rarity chances and rewards (resources) are also different and significantly different for insane and suicide. I can blink again! Seriously, thanks Rune and Xargos.

This is good information to know. However, when you write a game guide, which I highly suggest you do before you enter Alpha, the below is more of what you want. Then you follow it with specifics as above. - Xargos wrote:
- Ok, to make things a bit clearer:
When deciding about the fragment drop there are two separate rolls.
a. The first roll determines if a fragment will be awarded. b. The second roll determines the fragment's quality.
- Drop Rate % bonuses only affect the first roll and not the roll that determines quality. - Each quality has it's own fixed percentage depending on the difficulty and it is not affected by Drop Rate % bonuses.
Drop Rate example: Let's suppose that a fragment has a 30% drop chance. - A player that has 100% Drop Rate bonus would then have 60% chance to get a fragment. - Another player that has 200% Drop Rate bonus would then have 90% chance. Excellent Job!

Thank you THAN0S for your very good post. When we enter Alpha, we will definitely follow your instructions so we can do an excellent job and have an excellent game guide! Thank you! You are great!

| Just to complete this issue. You mentioned all the standard drop rates for all solo modes. The only things missing are the initial drop rate chance of co-ops and the drop rate for the second frag in PvP. Btw way we've been bragging for ages about our drop rates exceeding 300% and even more, couldn't you have said just once that there is no sense in having those. I will now go and sell or break a lot of items . | |

| There are few other open questions. There were hints and statements in prepatch threads about it, and now that we have settled the confusion in terminology...
Do following factors increase the drop rate/frag rarity
- MVP - Generals performance Good/Excellent - Number of units taken to battle - Level of own units = level of AI units = their gearscore/quality of AI items

Thank you! You are great! So far this thread is the leading contender for snarky 1 thread of 2014 year 2 award

- Let's analyze the words "Drop" and "Rate" together.
Drop: When something is dropped. When used in online games it refers to an item that a mob "drops" when it is killed.
Rate: A measure of the frequency of occurrence of a given event, such as a "Drop" as explained above.
So, a Drop Rate, in our case and by using the explanation above, would actually refer to the frequency of occurrence of finding a fragment in battle.
How exactly would a DROP RATE affect the RARITY of a DROP and how can that be CONFUSING?. It can be & was "CONFUSING" quite easily. English is an ambiguous language & both understandings (your's & the community) are quite reasonable interpretation of 'Drop Rate'. Thank you for clarifying your intent behind the meaning of Drop Rate. 1And in the spirit of this thread .... here is my contribution ...Since you used the world 'analyze' in a sentence, please remove it from the swear filter, and allow us to use this quite reasonable word in chat. Thanks
2On a serious note. As a community we tend too often to "reward" the developers giving us information by "beating them" up. Based on my limited knowledge of human behavior I don't think this is the most constructive response3 in the world, lol
3That is, it will tend to limit the information the developers will give us in the future; the opposite of what we want.

| I was reading through this thread and am under the impression that there is no 2nd drop for nightmare missions. I had a quest to defend region (100CP = Nightmare for my 2700AP squad). I do not use Drop Rate gear, so it seems this is a fluke? | |

| Is it indeed so that you have a guaranteed drop chance in insanes with 79% droprate?
I've just ran 3 insanes with 7 units and 86% drop rate in total (56% base drop for insanes + 30% drop rate from items). 1 insane gave me 1 rare armor frag and i've received no drop from the other 2 insanes.
Would this be a bug or just incorrect info? Tnx in advance.
