There are a lot of possibilities, if you master whatever format you are using and mix troops accordingly, you can win even naked. Just not as easy as before Wink
I am trying to figure out whether drop rates really went up, running 240 dr and so far i cant say its enough to sustain a 10 epics army.

It's "Insane" and then the most difficult difficulty "Suicide".

The transmutation mechanism will help as well Tibr, though there have been several people who have been very lucky with epic and godlike drops...

Drop rate is a vague mixture from what we know.

I understand that difficulty, number of units, level of units and (drop)gear all influence the outcome. I imagine it so far as:

Difficulty>drop gear>number of units>level of units

I assume there is a "base" value (difficulty) and non stackable modifiers (all the rest). Do 10 units with 100 drop gear get higher chance than 5 units with 200 drop gear? It would help to know what is impacting the calculation stronger.

This may be asking too much, but I would love to see all drop gear being summed up for me in the battle selection screen. Rolling Eyes

since this drifted off to talking about fragment drops...

in NM battles since monday i think only once did i see 2 frags drop. and only once have i gotten a rare and nothing better. 80%+ is common frags. granted i only wear 100ish drop rate increase, but seems much lower on the rares. epics and gl are as foreign as ever.

edit; read other thread stating max frag drops reduced in previous patch. double drop must not have been a nm or a one time bug. still, 1x frag is always low quality D:

I just wanted to bring this back to the new pve difficulties. I think NM is great! Thanks for your hard work devs, but normal seems weird now.

Personally I use normal as a way to level up new units before I can move them into one of my main armies.... recently normal has been spawning ridiculously high AP armies compared to what I am bringing.

I brought 1250 AP 3 cav and 4 LI and the enemy had 5 HI, 2 LI and 3 Archers...... That seems a bit excessive for normal. Now my LI are lvl 9 and the cav are only lvl 5 but I did not think that would lead to such a large AP discrepancy.

Did I just get unlucky or why is this happening when with the same comp last week I never had to fight an army like this?

Considering the fact that in Normal the AI has a big handicap in GS, compared to the other difficulties, excluding Easy of course, I would say you were a bit unlucky. However, Normal is not supposed to be easy, so your army will still need your full attention in battle.
