I wanted to share with you guys: Trading and Marketing+!

I thought about a trading system:

There will be a new button in the lower-right bar. It says 'Trade'.

When you click the button, a pop-up appears:

Who would you like to trade?
[______________________]
^You''ll have to place the
EXACT name of the person to trade.^

[Continue]
^Then press continue^

The other person who got the invite will get a popup:

Would you like to trade (Name)?

[Yes]       [No]       [Ignore]
Yes = Trade continues
No = Just no, the trade discontinues
Ignore = It'll be a no, and the other guy can't send trades to the other anymore.

When the other one accepts, a new popup appears.

It's big, you can both choose 3 items to trade. (Could be a resource or item also Gold is allowed.)

There will be a "Value" line. It tells who has debts or profit.

              Your value: 2503  |  Others value: 900
____________________|_____________________________
This means that your value is higher, which means that the other person should add more to make it equal. (Not necessary though)

For marketing+ i got another idea:

When you sell an item, your name will be displayed in the list. So it's less difficult to find the person you need!

What do u mean? I'm Dutch...

Anyway, expoitation...

Maybe a kind of security...?
I haven't got much intellect of that.

I mean people may exploit the system to just transfer resources and items around.

Doesn't matter whether you are Dutch, English, Chinese, or any other nationality. Smile

Make it server sided! I've heard that serverside systems are hard to hack/exploit.

Or else, create a script that detects exploits.

Anyway, i've seen that Armorgames looks weird. The background/ad is black. And the forums/support buttons don't have any marks. Armorgames looks weird to me. I like the site, but the appearance changed... Like something or someone hacked it.

EDIT: I just thought, it might be possible to only let people trade with friends. And you have to verify the trade first, then accept.

1st, indeed too vulnerable to exploiting.
2nd, some kind of monitoring is time-consuming and not worth it.
3rd, many many pop-ups? No thanks. It's easier to publicly trade and prearrange it in a way that the other person still gets the item usually. Risk of losing items is minimal, yet some people are convinced that the existing trading is horrrrrible.

Some other kind of private trading system, easier and quick (without confirmations at every step and name typing and such) could be quite nice.

I like the current system where neither buyer nor seller name is displayed anywhere =p

Gentlemen, there ISN'T a trading system implemented in the game, so it can't be horrible.

The game has an Auction House, not a trading system.

In regards to the Guilds, they have a Vault and soon members will be able to take items from the Vault.

anyone will be able take any item at any time?
if so, trading within guild would be even more dangerous than via public market. (transferring godlikes, for example =p)

it can be used as trading place, you can't forbid that...

what about resources? all people can steal from vault too? =p

we need more info about contracts btw. Only same faction too, right?

1. With the Auction House there is a risk that other poeple buy your thing from your friend.
2. I don't understand why it would be unsafe, nearly every game has a trading system...
3. Via the Guild Fault is also bad, because the same reason as 1st. Poeple can steal your stuff while it isn't meant for them.

I like a trading system better than AH or Guild Vault.
And my marketing idea is also not bad. People can read the stuff from people who sold good stuff, or your friend can find you simplier.

And trading is much safer qua buying/selling. You just give the other player his resouces or items, and the other one gives gold as example. When the trade completed you've got the right items!

And i mean with popups: A window coming up in-game.

I would assume\hope that the Guild Vault system will have some kind of member security, so only certain people have withdraw access.

By making trading within guild members you will allow players to trade and make unreasonable offers, but anyway, I like the idea. Even with making player-to-player directly offers theres no bad sides. Looking at big picture, even now players find possiblilities how to make deals by recognizing the identic price & making bonus trade to adjust price, making no possible to snipe.

I still have some suggestion about trade:
- just like on RPG browser game Hattrick, there's a limit of last price, making prices to must be offered at least 3 mins before selling. Making the same on BC with 30 secound minimal delay may be good idea.
- if seller wants, the name will be shown at the offer in market
- ordering by time: now, we must click like 15 pages to get to last offers. there should be an option to go to lower than 1 day and 4 days (completely reversed than now)
- when going to market and select e.g. stone, there will be shown last stone sold offers: making an overlook what prices are appropriate

Offtopic:
There should be more income from resource buildings.
