| Introduction
Good day everyone,
So...I have a wish for a battle-mode that really is probably almost definitely never going to happen...but a man can dream.
The idea behind this battle-mode is to influence those pesky AI armies that have temporarily been blown up by a volcanic eruption.
The way this would work is similar to a PvP battle in that the two opponents are on opposite ends of the map and there are tiers.
Beyond that though, it is very different.
Design
Players that enter this mode receive victory conditions, which are randomly chosen..I will explain these shortly.
Additionally, there might be certain random...alterations...to certain mechanisms or units.
For example, ranged attacks are 1/2 as effective (extreme wind), there is no FoW (clear skies, day battle), FoV is halved (actual fog), unit speed above 15 is halved (mud), etc. It is possible for multiple alterations or none at all.
Finally...the players are not necessarily fighting each other...
In the center of the map (along the center line, can be all the way to the left or right) is a mountain/structure that spawns AI units. These AI units act differently depending on the random conditions for victory that were chosen, but usually attack the players' units.
Some potential scenarios are described below.
Pool of Match Types
(Note: In all scenarios described below, players may attack one another and/or the AI enemies)
1. AI elimination - The AI armies spawn a set number of units, the player that eliminates his AI opponent (one will receive drow enemies, the other dvergar) OR survives longer is the victor.
2. Survival - The AI will continually spawn units that get stronger and more numerous as time goes on. The player that survives longer wins.
3. High score (unlimited) - Players compete to rack up as many kills as they can. Play ends when both players are dead or when the long surviving player has more kills than the other. Players are awarded additional points for killing player-controlled troops.
4. High score (limited) - Same as above, only time limited.
5. VIP - Players are given an AI unit that they are to protect. The player that keeps their VIP alive longer, wins.
6. Survival+ - The same as Survival (#3), only players may attempt to storm the mountain. If a unit manages to reach the mountain a double "wave" of enemies is sent after the opponent, no more AI armies will spawn after one player captures the mountain. After the mountain is captured a countdown timer will start, if both players are alive after the timer reaches 0, the player with more remaining AP/HP wins.
7. Escort - Players are to escort a VIP or supply to the other side of the map. Victory is given to the player that first escorts their VIP to the other side...or escorts their VIP further. The match ends only when one VIP has been escorted or both VIPs are dead.
8. Defense - Players are to defend a stationary outpost/castle. Whichever player is able to keep the structure intact longest wins. Players may attack one another or their opponents outpost. The match does not end upon the death of one player's army, only the outpost.
Miscellaneous
This can be played in 1v1 and 2v2
Players produce CP, but more importantly, they influence the AI armies once they have returned.
While this is all probably just a pipe dream, I'd like to hear what people think about it anyway.

| This sounds like a great idea to me, different objectives could add to the fun factor and decrease repetition.
You could play whatever type of battle you wanted. | |

| Certainly battle modes is something that takes much dev time. We can ask for one extra mode and see how it works From your list what i would like the most is survival, but in COOP mode. Gone would be the times of boring and uncooperative coop battles Embrace the necessity to work together as a team ! I think such mode is actually "easier" to implement than few others. As it technically only requires a bigger map with a perma fow area around it. Here is a simple sketch. The white area is the coop battlefield as we know it right now, green stripes are player armies, red stripe is AI army. The grey area around is an additional territory that cannot be accessed by player armies, nor can it be seen, nor heard. It contains additional AI units of e.g. 50% the original AI AP. Their position is random. Their "activation" is triggered e.g. 5 minutes into the battle. And they may arrive from any direction leading to lots of surprises and challenge I am illiterate in coding but it looks doable to me. And hell of a lot fun. | |

| great ideas. Some of them really awesome. If some of those ideas seem doable to the devs, they should really put it on their top priority list. | |

I still would have preferred that this was put on High Council. Really it looks like most of the posters on this anyway are in HC. | |

I understand that but lets be honest. When has a suggestion from the suggestion thread ever actually been implemented in the game? I can't think of anything. Even FF for coop has been suggested a thousand times and it still isn't in the game. So I think this would have been more suited to High Council. | |

| Things we get in HC usually origin from the regular forum parts.
For example from last update:
- Trash Button has been removed. (was repeatedly a suggestion here)
- CPs subtracted from walls will be counted to rankings. (from general)
- Dark Legion Heavy Infantry will now have 20 troops instead of 16. (from countless whines in general and later on test server)
So, everyone should be helping here and suggesting his battle modes or saying his opinion. Based on that the HC may or may not bother with it. | |

Indeed it makes it way easier for HC to see which topics are more popular in the general community, and only then finish it in HC forum (=details, something actually implementable). There was a reason why yso posted it here, it wasn't accidental. | |

| Love the concept.
Espacally the part with the weather and or the field coditions changes...
It would gives to the battle a more realistic aspect. | |

There was a reason why yso posted it here, it wasn't accidental. I get that it wasn't an accident and lots of ideas and suggestions come from us in the general community but suggestions has never gotten any real recognition and has very rarely actually had something implemented from it. So not to say the devs don't look at every single post in the suggestions forum but at least we know/hope... that the devs consider the High Council posts a little more than suggestions posts because the whole point of the High Council is to get things moving in a faster direction. And in some ways we do put things on High Council that were in General Discussion or suggestions multiple times. But obviously i'm the only one with these thoughts so I won't post about it again. | |
